A Fan's Pledge To Take bACK POWER OF THEIR GAME
Dear NHL and NHLPA:
Our love and loyalty for the game has been abused and capitalized upon long enough. While the reprecussions we have felt in the current lockout situation have been ignored the actions we pledge to take will not be. As individuals we may not have a voice in the matter but as a whole we will be heard.
This situation should have been resolved long ago but you have taken our patience for granted expecting us to just forgive and forget when you feel like resuming your services. This is not a PR battle, a war of personal ego's or a place for your personal agenda's. There is no winner or loser because in the end everyone loses ESPECIALLY the fans.
As a fan of the game it is my right to take the following action in order to show you that we will not sit quiet while you take your time counting our money.
IF YOU DO NOT RESOLVE THIS SITUATION AND START THE SEASON WITH A MINIMUM OF 60 GAMES BY DEC. 15, 2012;
WE THE PLEDGERS WILL TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTION:
- We will not buy any tickets to next years season and will refuse to attend any event related to any NHL franchise.
- We will whenever possible refuse to view any nhl event on tv. If we must view a game we will find other ways to view them so that you do not receive any ratings.
- We will not support or purchase from any company and/or organization that sponsors or supports the NHL.
- We will take any action possible and constantly find new ways to limit funds you receive from our hard earned paycheques.
IF YOU DO NOT RESOLVE THIS SITUATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY CANCEL THE SEASON;
WE WILL TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS:
- We will not buy any tickets to the next two seasons and will refuse to attend any event related to any NHL franchise.
- We will whenever possible refuse to view any nhl event on tv. If we must view a game we will find other ways to view them so that you do not receive any ratings.
- We will not support or purchase from any company and/or organization that sponsors or supports the NHL.
- We will take any action possible and constantly find new ways to limit funds you receive from our hard earned paycheques.
TO OUR FELLOW FANS
By providing your name and joining this movement you agree to the above stipulations and are responsible to yourself for living up to them. Only by our actions can our voice be heard. We owe it to each other to hold true to our word and make our opinions and love for the game count. The only way for the NHL and all those that control the game to know we mean business is to hit them where it hurts. If they can not sit down and come to a fair agreement on how to split up OUR money then we will make it easier for them by providing them with less to fight about.
To show our intentions are true I will pledge $50 of my money that if I break any of my above promises will be donated to charity for EACH promise broken. I will find someone that will hold me accountable and ensure that if my promise is broken that my debt is paid. I will provide their name so that they can be contacted periodically to ensure I am living up to my end of this pledge. I will not waiver and I will not faulter. I will ensure that the NHL and NHLPA suffer as a result of their actions and neglect of our loyalty.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO JOIN ME IN MY PLEDGE:
We do not accept or collect any money. This is a personal pledge by you and only you will be responsible for paying your debt. By pledging our personal money we show the NHL that this is not an empty threat and that we intend to keep our promise.
